KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the district headquarters of Humla will be linked to the national road network within days.
In a Facebook post today, he announced that Simkot, Humla’s administrative centre, would finally benefit from a road connection after 26 years of isolation.
He added that recent infrastructure improvements meant Humla could no longer be regarded as remote.
He wrote on Facebook: “Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla, which until now was not connected to the national road network, will be connected within a few days. Our decades-old dream of connecting Humla to the road network is coming true. Once this road is operational, Nepal will be connected to the friendly neighbouring nation China through the Hilsa border point.”
