KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said it is necessary to improve policy and the state’s overall way of thinking to achieve economic prosperity.
Dahal made the remarks during a meeting with newly elected office-bearers of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) at his private residence in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, today.
He emphasised that the private sector’s contribution is vital to the country’s economic development and highlighted the need for policy reform to change the state’s mindset and provide a conducive environment for business, CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman’s secretariat informed.
“The goal of prosperity cannot be achieved without preparing policies and structures that facilitate the private sector. It is necessary for the state to develop a facilitating attitude,” he added.
CNI officials also recalled the private sector’s role in driving economic prosperity and the strong cooperative environment that existed when Dahal was prime minister.
