CNI, Education Minister Pant discuss linking education with industry

KATHMANDU: A discussion was held between the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Pant.

During a discussion held at the Ministry in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, on Thursday with newly appointed CNI officials, CNI President Birendra Raj Pandey emphasised the need to focus on producing skilled manpower. Pandey stated that CNI is attempting to connect education and skills with industry, and for this purpose, it has established an Education and Skills Committee within CNI to provide policy recommendations and implement activities. He also informed that CNI has entered into agreements with various universities in Nepal with the main objective of linking education with industry.

On the occasion, Education Minister Pant said that it is necessary to link education in a way that is in sync with production and that the government has given high priority to this work. Minister Pant said that the participation of private sector in education is mandatory and expressed his commitment to prioritise cooperation with private sector to link it with production.

CNI officials, member Sandeep Kumar Sharda, Director General Ghanashyam Ojha and others participated in the discussion.
