KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) exported electricity worth Rs 5.92 billion during Asoj (mid-September to mid-October).
The NEA supplied over 630 units of electricity to India in the month, with nearly two-thirds of the cross-border supply delivered under a bilateral agreement.
NEA Managing Director Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha said the August 26 flood had disrupted hydropower production and briefly interrupted exports, but transactions increased during Asoj.
Separately, the government resumed exports of 40 MW of power to Bangladesh via the Indian transmission network last Friday. Exports to Bangladesh had been suspended after the Bhotekoshi flash flood on August 26, which damaged the Trishuli and Chilime hydropower plants that had been authorised to supply power to Bangladesh.
