KATHMANDU: The Agriculture, Herbs and Forestry Committee of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and South Korea’s Bridge International have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on expanding agribusiness and developing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
At Chamber Bhawan in Jamal, Kathmandu, today, Krishna Man Shrestha, chairman of the NCC's Agriculture, Herbs and Forestry Committee, and Jinsol Hwang, CEO of Bridge International, signed the MoU. The agreement provides for both parties to exchange information on agriculture and entrepreneurship and to conduct joint studies on Nepal’s market conditions and business potential.

Under the pact, Bridge International will offer technical support to Nepali innovative businesses at central and local levels. Both organisations have also agreed to exhibit and promote goods produced by start-ups in Nepal and South Korea, create business-networking opportunities, and exchange mentorship and skills through joint workshops, training and experience sharing.
The MoU further outlines plans for entrepreneurs and young businesspeople from both countries to visit each other’s markets, explore new opportunities and develop potential ventures. Additionally, the NCC will collect data on returning young people who have acquired skills in South Korea and assist in enhancing their entrepreneurial capabilities and expanding their business networks.
The NCC expressed confidence that this collaboration – prioritising agribusiness, herbs and wildlife, and SME development – will strengthen Nepal’s entrepreneurial environment. It is expected to give Nepali farmers, entrepreneurs and innovators the chance to learn from international expertise and to pave the way for a sustainable economic partnership between Nepal and South Korea.
