
KATHMANDU: National Statistics Office has estimated economic growth of 4.61% for fiscal year 2024/25. Agriculture, industry and service sectors are projected to expand by 3.28%, 4.53% and 4.21% respectively, according to the Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal report, based on mid-July 2025 data issued today by Nepal Rastra Bank.

The share of agriculture in GDP stands at 25.16%, industry at 12.83% and services at 62.01%.
Gross domestic saving amounted to 6.55% of GDP in fiscal year 2024/25. Gross fixed capital formation accounted for 24.07% of GDP, while gross national saving was 36.24%.
Installed electricity capacity rose to 3,591 MW in fiscal year 2024/25, of which 3,390 MW derived from hydropower. Total tourist arrivals increased by 1.7% to 1,147,834.
Annual average consumer price inflation stood at 4.06% in fiscal year 2024/25, down from 5.44% a year earlier. Year-on-year consumer price inflation was 2.20% in mid-July 2025, compared with 3.57% in mid-July 2024.
Under the food and beverage category, the annual average consumer price index rose by 10.71% for vegetables, 8.72% for ghee and oil, 7.90% for pulses and legumes and 6.13% for cereal grains and their products, while it fell by 2.62% for spices and 0.34% for meat and fish.
Under the non-food and services category, the annual average consumer price index increased by 9.39% for miscellaneous goods and services, 6.09% for clothes and footwear, 5.65% for alcoholic drinks, 4.78% for furnishing and household equipment and 4.37% for tobacco products.
The annual average inflation for the food and beverage category stood at 4.69% in fiscal year 2024/25, down from 6.47% a year earlier. Year-on-year, it was –1.19% in mid-July 2025, compared with 4.04% in mid-July 2024.
The annual average inflation for the non-food and services category stood at 3.71% in fiscal year 2024/25, down from 4.64% a year earlier, and year-on-year it was 4.12% in mid-July 2025, compared with 3.26% in mid-July 2024.
