Nepal Tech Market launches WMS to digitise urban waste management
KATHMANDU: Nepal Tech Market has launched a new Waste Management System (WMS), which aims to add a new dimension to waste management in Nepal by using smart technology. The platform connects waste management with digital solutions rather than viewing it merely as a cleaning task and is expected to play an important role in addressing waste-management challenges in Nepal’s urban areas.
Mangal Pradhan, Chief Technology Officer of Nepal Tech Market, said the WMS incorporates the latest technology and global trends to make it user-friendly. “The system is robust, secure and easy to use, rendering waste collection and management more effective,” he said.
Sushmita Paudel, Chief Business Officer, said the system has received positive feedback from users and the company remains committed to improving the customer experience.
Potential users of the software include organisations working in waste management, households that generate waste and businesses such as hospitals, hotels, schools and government organisations. Through the platform, an interconnection is established between every waste-management company, waste-generating organisation and household. In addition to online payment of waste-management fees, the WMS provides a separate dashboard for municipalities, enabling municipal users to monitor activities in their municipal or ward area.
