KATHMANDU: Embark UnMath introduced its innovative mathematics programme to more than 25 schools in Bhairahawa and Butwal in Rupandehi District between August 3 and 8. The outreach formed part of an extensive initiative aimed at moving maths beyond textbooks and eliminating maths anxiety.
Founded in 2012, Embark UnMath focuses on transforming mathematics education through hands-on, real-world experiences. During the week-long visit, the team met principals, academic coordinators and teachers to explore partnerships and introduce its experiential learning offerings, including the UnMath District initiative, Maths Storytelling, Entrepreneurial Maths and Maths Museum concepts.
Prajwol Pokharel, Marketing and Business Development Manager at Embark UnMath, said, "We believe mathematics should be a subject students look forward to, not shy away from. These visits allow us to understand schools’ unique needs and co-create solutions that work for their context."
At Lumbini World School, yoga and pranayama instructor Shiv Sundar Pokhrel said, "This approach is exactly what our students need—practical, engaging and relevant to real life."

The initiative generated substantial interest across diverse educational institutions. Multiple schools have requested demonstration classes and customised proposals, while consortium leaders have discussed opportunities for broader implementation.
Educators praised UnMath’s interactive methodologies for aligning with their vision of quality education and maintaining academic rigour.
The UnMath team plans to conduct demonstration sessions, follow up with interested schools and develop tailored proposals, with the aim of establishing long-term partnerships that bring innovative mathematics learning directly into classrooms in the district.
