PM Oli, his Vietnamese counterpart Chinh hold bilateral talks on SCO summit sidelines

TIANJIN, CHINA: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, held a bilateral meeting today.

Both prime ministers are in China while participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of cultural, diplomatic and economic relations and cooperation between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Chinh recalled the recent Nepal visit of the Vice-President of Vietnam, Võ Thị Ánh Xuân, and invited Prime Minister Oli to visit Vietnam.

Expressing Nepal’s solidarity with Vietnam’s freedom movement, Prime Minister Oli underlined that the progress made by Vietnam in a short period is an inspiration for all.

He shared that Nepal would graduate to a developing country next year and urged investment in Nepal’s energy sector.

Prime Minister Oli also extended an invitation to his Vietnamese counterpart to visit Nepal.
