
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 19.89 points, or 0.72%, to close at 2,741.97 today.
A total of 10,535,874 shares of 323 companies were traded in 89,775 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 4.43 billion.
All sub-indices declined: Banking fell by 0.49%, Development Bank by 0.39%, Finance by 0.88%, Hotels and Tourism by 0.52%, Hydropower by 0.96%, Investment by 0.76% and Life Insurance by 0.30%. Manufacturing and Processing decreased by 0.80%, Microfinance by 0.97%, Mutual Fund by 0.28%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.70%, Tradings by 1.97% and Other Indices by 0.53%.
Him Star Urja Company (HIMSTAR) led gains with a 9.98% rise, while Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (USLB) recorded the largest fall, down by 7.47%.
By turnover, Nepal Reinsurance Company (NRIC) led with Rs 227.04 million, and by volume, Dordi Khola Jal Bidyut Company (DORDI) topped the list with 561,514 shares changing hands.
