Kathmandu DAO imposes curfew on Ring Road area

KATHMANDU:  Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has imposed a curfew in the Ring Road area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal issued the order at 8:30 am today, effective until further notice. The curfew responds to demonstrations organised by Gen Z groups that descended into anarchy.

The DAO specified that the curfew covers Balkumari Bridge to Koteshwor Chowk, Sinamangal, Gaushala, Chabahil, Narayangopal Chowk, Gongabu, Balaju, Swoyambhu, Kalanki and Bagmati River Bridge.

During the curfew, all movement, gatherings, demonstrations, rallies, meetings and picketing are strictly prohibited within the designated areas.
