NHRC forms team to probe rights violations, urges peaceful protest
KATHMANDU: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has formed an investigative team, chaired by NHRC Member Lily Thapa, to probe alleged human rights violations during the demonstration.
The NHRC has urged protesting groups to ensure the demonstration remains peaceful, dignified and restrained.
In a press statement, NHRC spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel said the time has come to learn lessons from past incidents and that peaceful efforts are required to prevent further loss of life and damage to property.
