KATHMANDU: Public buses resumed services from New Bus Park in Gongabu, Kathmandu, today.

Public transport, which had been suspended after a prohibitory order and curfew imposed following the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, gradually resumed.

Pankaj Malla, human resources chief of Lhotse Multipurpose, said dozens of public vehicles had left Kathmandu Valley between 7:00 am and 10:00 am.

Earlier, Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE), an umbrella organisation of transport operators, had issued a press statement directing operators not to run services under the recent circumstances.

The vehicles departed the valley of their own accord. FNNTE Senior President Saroj Sitaula told RSS that coordination with security bodies and the ministry was underway to determine how services would be operated in an institutional manner in the coming days.
