On the occasion, Minister Ghising highlighted long-standing economic cooperation between Nepal and South Korea and requested support for reservoir-based hydropower projects exceeding 500 MW.

The Korean ambassador reported that the 216 MW Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project in Rasuwa district is 70% complete, invited Minister Ghising to the main tunnel breakthrough in December and thanked the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for its cooperation.
Ambassador Park added that a seminar will be organised in Nepal with private energy producers to attract Korean firms, and has been in talks with the Ministry of Finance on transmission-line assistance.
