KATHMANDU: TikTok has recently announced a comprehensive set of new features designed to make its platform safer, more supportive and empowering for all users.
TikTok has been empowering creators with safety and productivity tools, enabling them to focus on creating, connecting with their fan base, and feel more in control. These features help to protect creators from unwanted behaviour while allowing them to better manage content and audience interactions.
TikTok has launched Creator Care Mode, a feature aimed at enabling creators to have a better experience governing their comment sections. Once activated, Creator Care Mode automatically hides comments that are abusive, harassing or obscene, with an emphasis on comments that the creator has reported or deleted in the past. This gives creators relief so they do not have to spend more time moderating their comments than creating videos. The feature is backed by smart technology that learns from every creator and uses patterns to ensure a safer, more positive community space.

For creators who regularly stream live content, TikTok has also introduced an upgraded Live Muting Tool. With this tool, hosts can mute or block users who incorrectly or inappropriately use words, phrases and emojis while in their live stream. If the host or one of their moderators enters a keyword, phrase or emoji into the tool, those comments will not appear in the chat, and commenters who previously posted the phrase or who post the phrase in future will be muted for the creator's chosen duration. The feature is available to all creators globally today and will proactively surface to creators who mute or block repeated comments during a live stream. TikTok's bulk mute feature provides added control over live interactions and helps create a respectful conversation and community so both creators and viewers can have a safer, more engaging, real-time community space.
Another useful tool introduced for creators is Content Check Lite, available only through TikTok Studio on the web. This feature allows creators to see whether their videos may have limited reach, such as not appearing on the For You page, so they can change them before they post. By identifying possible issues early, creators can make necessary changes to ensure their content aligns with the Community Guidelines while maintaining creative freedom. In addition, the platform now offers Creator Inbox, a professional messaging hub which has quick-response templates and separate folders for unread and starred messages, making fan interaction easier and faster for creators.
These tools demonstrate TikTok's support for creators, helping them to feel safe, supported and confident in their journey of building communities online. The platform encourages creators to take advantage of these tools, learn how they work and then use them to create a positive, productive and protected creative experience.
TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Their mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy.
