KATHMANDU, 9 November — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged Nepal’s private sector, entrepreneurs, farmers, and youth to move forward with confidence, without fear or hesitation. She made the appeal while addressing the “National Economic Debate 2.0”, organised by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Kathmandu on Saturday.
“I want to appeal – do not be afraid, but move forward with confidence. This is not the time for suspicion or fear. This is the time to join hands,” Prime Minister Karki said, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation for economic progress. She noted that recent studies indicate a rising economic growth rate and declining inflation, signalling that government efforts are moving in the right direction.
She emphasised that building the nation is a responsibility that cannot be left to others. “If we do not build our country, no one will do it for us. We must take the lead and ensure that Nepal remains a place worth living in for future generations,” she added.
Prime Minister Karki also described the dialogue as an opportunity to chart a blueprint for a prosperous, inclusive, and globally respected Nepal. “This government understands the value of your sweat. Together, we will build a better tomorrow than yesterday,” she said.
Earlier, government officials including Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Anil Kumar Sinha, and Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Bishwanath Poudel highlighted the need for economic stability, private sector protection, and investment-friendly reforms. FNCCI leaders and representatives of the private sector emphasised that sustained peace, security, and high morale among businesspeople are critical for long-term economic growth.
