KATHMANDU: Ncell Foundation is continuing its 4s for 4 initiative with the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, pledging to donate four educational kits for every boundary (4s) scored during matches, the foundation said on Sunday.
The programme, renewed after last year’s collaboration, targets students from marginalised communities in rural and remote areas. Each kit will include a school bag, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, erasers and other basic learning materials intended to reduce resource shortages and support classroom learning.
Last season, the foundation pledged more than 2,612 kits from 653 boundaries and went on to distribute over 9,000 educational kits nationwide, including the 2,612 allocated under the 4s for 4 initiative. Encouraged by that outcome, Ncell Foundation said it aims to reach even more learners during NPL Season 2.
“Cricket connects us all, and through this collaboration, we aim to channel its energy into empowering young minds,” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, corporate communications and sustainability director at Ncell. “Every boundary scored is another step towards brighter futures for students who deserve equal opportunities to learn and grow.”
Distribution of the kits will be coordinated with the Cricket Association of Nepal, local authorities and implementing partner Karmayog Foundation to ensure the materials reach the intended beneficiaries. Ncell Foundation said the initiative turns excitement on the cricket field into tangible support for education across Nepal.
