KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today handed over computer devices to the Department of Industry. FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal handed the devices to the department’s director general, Rajeshwor Gyawali.
FNCCI provided the devices as assistance after computer equipment and other materials were destroyed by fire in an arson attack on the department’s premises during protests on September 8 and 9.
On the occasion, FNCCI President Dhakal said only collaboration between private sector and state agencies can improve the quality of service delivery and that he was happy to provide a small assistance on behalf of FNCCI to mitigate the damage faced by the department. He added that collaboration between FNCCI and the department will continue. “Collaboration is necessary between the private sector and government agencies. We believe that this collaboration will contribute to institutional capacity building,” Dhakal said.
Director General Gyawali said the department’s physical assets suffered significant damage during the Gen-Z protests and expressed gratitude for the prompt assistance from FNCCI, adding that the support will facilitate the department’s daily service operations.
