Four newly appointed ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: Four newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy today.

President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to Minister for Land Management, Co‑operatives and Poverty Alleviation Kumar Singh Ingnam; to Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari; to Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Chaulagain; and to Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Shraddha Shrestha. The President administered the oath at a swearing-in function at the Office of the President in Shital Niwas.

Also present at the ceremony were Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, heads of the constitutional bodies and senior government officials.

Earlier today, President Paudel appointed Ingnam, Bhandari, Chaulagain and Shrestha as ministers on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

With the new ministers inducted today, the number of cabinet members in the current government has reached 14.

The government formed after the Gen‑Z movement of September 8 and 9 was expanded three times previously, on September 15, September 22 and October 26.
