BIRATNAGAR: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal said the government has been creating an enabling environment for investment growth in the trade and industry sectors. He made the remarks while inaugurating the 10‑day Birat Trade Expo‑2025, organised by the Morang Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Biratnagar on Wednesday.
The minister said a tax service office was established in Kerabari, Morang, on Wednesday to reduce time and costs for taxpayers.
Saying that the government is eager to address problems that have surfaced in imports, Khanal claimed that revenue generation would go up if entrepreneurs were given confidence.
Sharing that the country has incurred a total loss of Rs 84 billion during the Gen‑Z uprising, Minister Khanal urged citizens to remain cautious to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
Minister Khanal asserted that the election announced by the government would be held on time, urging everyone not to cast doubt on that.
Also speaking on the occasion, Koshi Province Minister for Tourism, Forest and Environment Sadananda Mandal, highlighted the importance of augmenting the tourism sector to create national capital.
Likewise, the mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Nagesh Koirala, said the Birat Expo would help boost economic and entrepreneurial development in the country.
