KATHMANDU: Gold and silver prices have reached fresh record highs today. Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA) has fixed the price of one tola of fine gold at Rs 303,800 and one tola of silver at Rs 6,480.
The new rates mark an increase of Rs 2,400 for gold and Rs 290 for silver compared with Friday’s quoted prices of Rs 301,400 and Rs 6,190, respectively. The rise in precious metal prices follows sustained international gains and strong local demand.
Internationally, gold is trading at around $4,980 an ounce and silver at about $104 an ounce, according to market reports cited by local traders. Market watchers warned that continued volatility in global bullion markets and domestic demand patterns could keep prices elevated in the near term.
