KATHMANDU: inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, is reinforcing its commitment to user safety in Nepal. It is upholding its principle of freedom of choice as ride-hailing grows across the country’s urban centres.
The company said it is promoting a set of practical safety measures that users can follow before, during and after every trip, supported by in-app features and ongoing awareness initiatives designed to make journeys safer, more transparent and more confident.
Before a trip, inDrive encourages users to check driver details available in the app, including the driver’s name, photo and vehicle information, and to share trip details with trusted contacts so loved ones can follow the journey in real time.
During the ride, users can share their live location through the app and use a masked-call feature that allows riders and drivers to communicate without revealing phone numbers. The app also includes an SOS button to seek assistance quickly in case of discomfort or emergency.
After the trip, passengers are urged to rate their driver and provide honest feedback. inDrive’s reporting and feedback mechanisms enable users to raise concerns or suggestions, the company said, supporting continuous improvement and greater accountability for both passengers and drivers.
Rita Pokharel, country representative for inDrive Nepal, said, “As Nepal’s urban mobility ecosystem continues to evolve, safety and freedom of choice must go hand in hand. By equipping users with clear information and easy-to-use safety tools, we enable them to travel with confidence while staying in control of their decisions.”
inDrive said these efforts form part of its wider mission to build a people-centred mobility ecosystem centred on safety, fairness, transparency and freedom of choice. The company operates in 1,065 cities across 48 countries and offers services beyond ride-hailing, including intercity transport, delivery and financial services.
