KATHMANDU: inDrive Nepal, a popular ride‑sharing app, launched its 'safety campaign' at a programme organised in Kathmandu today. Brand Ambassador Swastima Khadka unveiled the campaign, which aims to dispel misconceptions about inDrive’s safety.
Rita Pokharel, Country Director of inDrive Nepal, highlighted the app’s safety features at the event. “Safety is not just a feature but a product in itself. We have given high importance to work on the safety feature, and providing a rating to the rider is one of the key elements of safety, and this campaign,” she said. “I request all our app users to give ratings to our riders, so that the users know how good and credible the rider is based on their ratings, as these are directly linked to building trust and safety of passengers.”
Organisers also emphasised the app’s location‑sharing and other safety functions that keep users’ phone numbers and personal details hidden.
“Users always fear if their rides are insured or if their journey is insured, and inDrive provides no insurance, which is all a misconception. inDrive insures all its rides, so I request the general public to use the app without any fear,” Khadka said.
Before the press briefing, inDrive organised a training session for its riders. Senior Sub‑Inspector of Nepal Traffic Police Rajib Bista provided the training, and a gaming session was held during which Khadka joined the participants.
Around 10 participants won gift hampers after the gaming session.
