All preparations are complete for HoR election: MoHA

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has said that all preparations for the House of Representatives election, scheduled for Thursday, have been completed.

MoHA officials reported the completion of managerial tasks, including election security and necessary arrangements, at a virtual meeting with chief district officers from all 77 districts held at the ministry this morning.

The meeting was chaired by MoHA Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha and attended by senior ministry officials. It reviewed election preparations and security arrangements across all districts, MoHA Under Secretary Rama Acharya said.

According to Acharya, chief district officers from every district reported that preparations for the election have been completed and that the security situation in the districts is normal.

Discussions at the meeting covered district-level election preparations, the current situation, and coordination to be undertaken by the central authority. Acharya said the law-and-order situation, precautions for election day and security sensitivity were reviewed, and an understanding was reached to formulate the upcoming strategy.

Home Secretary Shrestha instructed chief district officers to strengthen and make election security effective. Chief district officers also reported that all staff, security mechanisms and election materials have been transported to polling stations.
