KATHMANDU: Vote counting under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections is underway.
As of 10:30 am today, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has so far won 125 seats, is leading the PR vote counts by a wide margin. Of a total of 10,412,229 votes counted so far, the party has secured 4,997,150 votes.
The Nepali Congress (NC) has secured 1,691,750 votes, while the CPN (UML) garnered 1,410,457 and the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) received 766,711. The Shram Sanskriti Party has collected 357,571, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party achieved 324,847 votes.
According to EC updates, the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal secured 170,904 votes, the Rastriya Pariwartan Party 166,416 and the Janamat Party 76,182 votes.
In the direct electoral counts, the NC has been elected in 18 seats, CPN (UML) in nine, NCP in seven, Shram Sanskriti in three, and RPP and an independent candidate one each.
