KATHMANDU: The Accountability Monitoring Committee (AMC) has called on the government to immediately make public the report of the Probe Commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9.

The committee urged that the rights of the victim community, civil society, the general public and the media to be informed be respected by releasing the commission’s report.

Committee Coordinator Raju Prasad Chapagain issued the demand in a press release today.

“It is not a matter of the government’s discretion whether or not to make the report public. It is the constitutional right of the people to be informed about the report. So it is the responsibility of the government to make public the report as soon as possible,” the statement read.
