KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is set to operate a special flight tonight to rescue passengers stranded at Dubai Airport.
The airline issued a flight notice on Tuesday saying a wide‑body aircraft will depart at 11:15 pm to fly passengers from Nepal to Dubai and to bring those stuck in Dubai back home.
RA 229 (Kathmandu–Dubai) is due to leave for Dubai at 11:15 pm tonight, with RA 230 (Dubai–Kathmandu) scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Thursday at 4:10 am.
NAC Executive Director Amritman Shrestha said this will be Nepal Airlines' first special flight to Dubai in 12 days to assist stranded travellers in light of the ongoing US–Iran conflict.
Shrestha emphasised that passengers will be accommodated on a first‑come, first‑served basis and said approximately 270 to 280 passengers are expected to reach Dubai tonight. He explained that these special flights are organised to ensure the safe return of passengers who have been awaiting rescue in Dubai.
Only passengers who had tickets booked between February 28 and March 9 and were unable to travel will be eligible for tonight's flight.
The Corporation has urged all passengers to revalidate their tickets prior to travelling.
