KATHMANDU: Facing growing uncertainty in the global energy supply chain and emerging shortages of cooking gas in Nepal, CG Electronics’ Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) division has introduced eight new cooktop models aimed at reducing household dependence on gas and promoting the use of domestic hydroelectricity.

The new line-up comprises five induction cooktops designed for fast cooking and energy savings, two infrared models that support any type of cookware, and one hybrid model that combines induction and infrared functions in a single unit. The company said the range was developed to meet diverse consumer needs and to accommodate different utensils made of steel, aluminium, copper, brass or clay.

CG highlighted several modern safety and performance features across the series, including high-quality IGBT components to improve durability and handle voltage fluctuations, heat-resistant crystal glass tops, feather-touch digital panels with touch or push-button controls, and child-lock functions to reduce the risk of accidents.

All eight models carry a standard 12-month product warranty. In a market first, CG is offering a special two-year warranty specifically covering glass breakage or related problems, a move the company said is an exemplary service for Nepali consumers.

CG Electronics, which has operated in Nepal’s consumer electronics market for more than four decades, said it will support customers through a nationwide network of 21 showrooms and 40 service centres, and will also provide online sales through its official website. The company emphasised that its after-sales network aims to deliver fast, reliable and technically proficient service across the country.
