KATHMANDU: Vaidya Energy, the authorised distributor of Ather Energy in Nepal, launched the Ather Rizta S nationwide in Nepal on Friday.

The company said the new model expands the Rizta family following strong demand for last year’s Rizta Z. The company added the Rizta S will be sold with an introductory benefit that reduces the effective price for early buyers and will be backed by a comprehensive ownership support package called Ather Assurance.

“The Rizta S is designed to make electric mobility simple, practical, and accessible for every Nepali household,” said Suryansh Vaidya, CEO of Vaidya Energy. “With its unique design, reliable performance, and the added confidence of the Ather Assurance package, it addresses the real concerns customers have when switching to electric. We believe it will play a significant role in accelerating EV adoption across the country.”

Built for everyday riding, the Rizta S joins the existing Rizta Z to offer two variants aimed at families and daily commuters. The Rizta S is equipped with a 2.7 kWh battery that delivers an IDC range of 123 km, a peak power output of 4.3 kW, a top speed of 80 km/h, 0–40 km/h acceleration in 4.7 seconds, and 22 Nm of torque. Ather and Vaidya Energy highlighted practical design features such as a spacious seat, roomy floorboard and generous storage, and safety systems including Auto Hold, Fall Safe and an Emergency Stop Signal intended for Nepal’s mixed urban and rural roads.

Ather Assurance, the ownership package introduced alongside the scooter, combines extended battery warranty, charging access and service support. The battery warranty is offered for up to three years or 30,000 km and can be extended to five years or 60,000 km. Charging support includes access to Ather’s network of 35 public fast chargers across Nepal, and the company is offering one year of free charging at Ather Grid fast-charging stations for customers. Vaidya Energy also said dedicated service centres are available in every city with an Ather Experience Centre, and customers will receive a limited-period 20% discount on the Annual Maintenance Contract.

The Rizta S is priced at Rs 294,900. To mark the launch, Vaidya Energy is offering an introductory benefit of Rs 20,000 for the first 150 customers, bringing the effective price down to Rs 274,999. The company said the discount can be availed as a direct cash reduction, through exchange benefits, or via financing options, including 0% interest plans.

Bookings and deliveries opened on Friday itself, across all 10 Ather Experience Centres in Nepal. Customers can secure priority allocation under the introductory offer with Rs 999 booking amount, Vaidya Energy said.

Vaidya Energy is Nepal’s leading electric two-wheeler brand committed to accelerating the country’s shift to sustainable mobility. Ather Energy, founded in India in 2013, is noted for designing and manufacturing electric scooters and for building a dedicated fast-charging network.
