DHARAN: BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, has received medical materials and equipment valued at about Rs 4.8 million from Kathmandu‑based Pest Pro Solution, hospital officials said on Monday.

The donation was handed over at a brief ceremony at the BPKIHS medical store branch. Supriya Majhi Banepali, proprietor of Pest Pro Solution, and Deepak Banepali presented the supplies to Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bikram Prasad Shrestha. Representatives from Pest Pro Solution and senior hospital officials attended the ceremony.

Hospital sources said the donation comprises medical equipment and surgical supplies for daily patient care. The contribution comes as BPKIHS faces rising patient numbers and shortages of some health materials amid financial constraints, and is expected to support service delivery.

Senior BPKIHS attendees included Deputy Director Dr Indra Limbu, Acting Deputy Registrar Sagar Kumar Tamrakar, Electro‑Med Branch Engineer and Head Rahul Mishra, Bio‑Medical Branch Engineer and Head Pradip Raj Sah, Deputy Matron Bishnu Maya Tamang, General Store Branch Head Maheshwor Rai, Medical Store Branch Head Sanjeev Kumar Karna, Hospital Administration Housekeeping Officer Manoj Kumar Yadav and other staff.

Donor Deepak Banepali, a permanent resident of Dharan, said he was pleased to support the institute. "As a permanent resident of Dharan, I am extremely happy to contribute to the service of the glorious BPKIHS, which stands as a point of pride for the area," he said, and appealed to others to help according to their capacity, given the institute’s financial situation.

Accepting the donation, Vice-Chancellor Shrestha thanked Banepali couple and the Pest Pro Solution team. He said private sector support is important for a large health institution during financial difficulty and will help make patient treatment easier and more effective.

BPKIHS officials thanked the donors and Pest Pro Solution for the 'commendable act', noting the immediate benefit the supplies will bring to hospital services.
