Newly appointed NRB Deputy Governor Pandit sworn in

KATHMANDU: Kiran Pandit was sworn in as Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Tuesday.

The newly appointed deputy governor of the central bank took the oath of office and secrecy before NRB Governor Prof Dr Biswo Nath Poudel.

Pandit’s appointment followed a decision by the Council of Ministers on April 7. At the swearing-in, Governor Poudel congratulated Pandit and offered his best wishes for a successful tenure. 

Pandit assumed his duties immediately after the ceremony.

Pandit began his career at NRB as an Assistant Director on January 15, 2006. He was promoted to Deputy Director in 2068 BS, advanced to Director in 2074 BS, and reached the position of Executive Director on February 13, 2025.

While serving as Executive Director, Pandit led the Payment Systems Department and the Foreign Exchange Management Department and also acted as the central bank’s spokesperson.
