KATHMANDU: Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi held a telephone conversation on Friday with Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal.

Safadi, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, congratulated Khanal on his recent appointment and expressed a strong willingness to work with Nepal to develop bilateral cooperation and to support collective efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The ministers discussed ways to strengthen ties between the two friendly nations and reviewed the current situation in the Middle East, with much of the discussion focused on regional developments and ongoing efforts to end the dangerous escalation the region has witnessed.

They also considered prospects for restoring a comprehensive calm following the successful conclusion of a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. Both officials emphasised the importance of maintaining diplomatic momentum to ensure long‑term stability and security.

Khanal expressed his appreciation for the warm wishes and reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to enhancing its diplomatic and cooperative ties with Jordan. Both parties agreed to continue their coordination on issues of mutual interest.
