CNIYEF holds high-level interaction to assess Nepal’s economic and industrial health

KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum (CNIYEF) held a high-level interaction on Wednesday to assess Nepal’s economic and industrial health. The event brought together young business leaders, policy experts and senior industrialists.

The programme, titled 'Diagnosing the Economic & Industrial Health of Nepal,' featured panellists with long experience in government and finance, including former minister Anil Kumar Sinha and former finance minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal. CNI President Birendra Raj Pandey and other industry figures attended the programme. The session was facilitated by CNIYEF Growth and Expansion Chair Nida Doon Malla.

On the occasion, CNIYEF President Manish Shrestha urged a clear-eyed appraisal of the country’s situation. "To chart the path for the future, we must first correctly analyse our current situation. The forum is always committed to bridging the gap between experienced policymakers and the energy of young entrepreneurs," he said.

Likewise, panel discussions addressed structural challenges and development opportunities across the Nepali economy. Speakers highlighted complexities in federal financial administration, legal hurdles to industrial development and recent shifts in the commercial sector.

During the question-and-answer session, representatives from the manufacturing, technology and services sectors pressed the panel on liquidity, policy stability and the investment climate. Participants sought guidance on improving access to finance and on creating a more predictable regulatory environment for businesses.

The event concluded with remarks from CNIYEF’s immediate past president Ashish Agrawal, who thanked the experts and emphasised the value of intergenerational dialogue between policymakers and emerging entrepreneurs.

CNIYEF said the forum aimed to continue such exchanges to help shape practical recommendations for policymakers and industry stakeholders.
