At the event, NRB Governor Biswo Nath Poudel said controlling financial crimes linked to money laundering, terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons is crucial for maintaining transparency, good governance and economic stability in the financial system. He said the training aims to tackle emerging trends and challenges by improving coordination among agencies, enhancing investigation and monitoring, sharing information and developing skilled personnel.

Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki said the nature of financial crime is becoming more complex and that technical knowledge, investigative skills and inter‑agency coordination are indispensable for successful investigations. He said the police are continuously engaged in evidence collection, financial analysis and cooperation with national and international agencies to investigate offences such as hundi transactions, organised crime, human trafficking, drug smuggling, criminal profiteering and fraud.
