Immediate Past District Governor Shreejana Rana said the organisation viewed the development with “immense pride” and added that the achievement reflects the leadership, service, advocacy and women’s empowerment values that Zonta champions globally.
An active member of Zonta Club Kathmandu, Rana has contributed to service and advocacy initiatives focused on women’s rights, gender equality and community awareness. As chair of the club’s Violence Against Women Committee, she led the 2022 Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign, overseeing public awareness initiatives including short films, street plays, community discussions and social media outreach.
The club said Rana’s experience as an entrepreneur, together with her service and leadership in Zonta, can contribute to an inclusive and equitable Nepal. It added that her background will also help advance opportunities for women and girls.
