KATHMANDU: Fonepay wrapped up its 'Sakshyam Naari' women’s empowerment campaign with a Mega Giveaway Jewellery Handover Ceremony in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, on Monday.
Launched in March to mark Women’s Empowerment Month, the month-long initiative promoted digital financial inclusion and encouraged women to adopt credit cards as a practical tool for everyday life, supporting aspirations, independence and financial confidence. The campaign ran in collaboration with Everest Bank, Kumari Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Garima Bikas Bank and Manjushree Finance.
During the ceremony, six female winners — one from each participating financial institution — received diamond jewellery from Sazuna Jewellers, the campaign’s official jewellery partner. The winners were Nutan Sah of Keshrahiya, Rautahat (Laxmi Sunrise Bank); Binu Gandhari of Kathmandu (Siddhartha Bank); Rabina Sainju of Bhaisepati, Lalitpur (Everest Bank); Bishnu Maya Limbu of Lalitpur (Kumari Bank); Bindu Shrestha of Dharan (Manjushree Finance); and Archana Neupane of Kathmandu (Garima Bikas Bank).
Fonepay said the campaign sought to increase women’s participation in the digital payment ecosystem by promoting secure and convenient digital financial services and building confidence in using digital payments.
Fonepay added that the event reflected its ongoing efforts to expand access to interoperable payment services across banks, financial institutions, wallets, merchants and consumers, and reiterated its commitment to a more inclusive digital economy where women have the tools and opportunities to engage confidently in Nepal’s financial landscape.
Fonepay is Nepal’s leading payment network, enabling interoperable digital payment services across banks, financial institutions, wallets, merchants and consumers. Through innovative payment solutions and strategic partnerships, Fonepay supports Nepal’s transition towards a cashless and digitally empowered economy.
