Global IME Bank, Bhat-Bhateni offer on-the-spot EMI at 0% for purchases over Rs 15,000

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank and Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket and Departmental Store have signed an agreement to offer customers an on-the-fly EMI facility at a 0% interest rate when purchasing goods at any Bhat-Bhateni outlet.

Under the agreement, holders of Global IME Bank credit cards will be eligible for immediate instalment plans on purchases of Rs 15,000 or more without additional paperwork. Shoppers can select repayment terms of 3, 6, 9, 12 or 18 months, and no interest or processing fees will be charged under the scheme.

The partners said the facility aims to promote digital payments and modern financial services while easing the upfront cost of high-value items such as electronics and household appliances, allowing customers to spread payments over time.

As part of the collaboration, a special Global BBSM club credit card will be issued to regular Bhat-Bhateni customers based on their transaction history and recent financial behaviour. Eligible customers may receive cards with credit limits ranging from Rs 150,000 to Rs 300,000, determined by their fiscal-year activity and the last three months of transactions. Initially, the card will be usable only at Bhat-Bhateni and its network.

Global IME Bank and Bhat-Bhateni also plan to roll out joint promotions, including discounts, cashback, rewards and other customer-focused schemes in the coming days. IMS Software will serve as the technical partner for the initiative.

Global IME Bank highlighted its nationwide reach and service network, noting it operates in all 77 districts through more than 1,000 service points, including 344 branch offices, 368 ATMs, 147 branchless banking outlets, 69 extension and revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices.

The bank continues to provide remittance services from a wide range of countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and India.
