KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and House of Rajkarnicar (HOR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen commercial ties between Nepal and India and to promote Nepali participation in an international trade exhibition in Varanasi.

The agreement, finalised at a ceremony at the NICCI Secretariat in Narayanchaur, Naxal, on Tuesday, names NICCI as the official industry partner for the upcoming 'Food & Beverage and Hospitality B2B Trade Show' in Varanasi. The MoU was signed by Rajan Sharma, General Secretary of NICCI, and Minu Rajkarnicar, Managing Director of House of Rajkarnicar.

The exhibition will offer new opportunities for companies in the food, beverage, tourism and hospitality sectors from both countries. Entrepreneurs, investors and business groups are expected to use the event as a platform to build direct commercial links and explore joint ventures.

The partnership is viewed as a step towards raising Nepal-India economic and commercial engagement. It is expected that the event will strengthen cross-border trade, attract investment and increase cooperation among private-sector stakeholders.

The Varanasi trade show is expected to bring Nepali food and hospitality firms together under one roof and provide fresh momentum to regional economic cooperation.
