KATHMANDU: Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has announced that the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 will take place from August 11 to 16 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
At a press conference on Monday, NAIMA said the six-day event will feature 51 stalls, more than 55 brands and over 40 new product launches, and will showcase two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles, electric and hybrid mobility solutions, related technologies and services.
NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said membership has risen from 21 to 36 companies since the association was founded a year ago, reflecting industry confidence and the need for a unified platform. She cited NAIMA’s vision, 'Empowering Growth Through Mobility', and mission, 'Mobility for All', and said, “When mobility improves, opportunities expand, and when people, activities, and businesses can move smoothly, the country moves forward.”
Vaidya outlined NAIMA’s work over the past year, including efforts towards sector reforms, completion of the first Expo, capacity-building training for 1,610 traffic police personnel in Kathmandu Valley, emergency support for reconstruction of offices damaged during recent demonstrations, and collaboration with government agencies on traffic management, road safety and public awareness programmes.

NAIMA said at least 10% of the Expo’s ticket revenue will be allocated to research fellowships and training initiatives, with resulting papers to be published in the NAIMA Mobility Journal. The association also plans future events and structured training programmes with the Ministry of Education and Sports, and other government bodies to support skill development and employment in the mobility sector.
The second NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo will host free learning sessions at the Auditorium Hall of the Blue Pavilion at Nepal Police Club, led by experts, industry leaders and academics. NAIMA said the venue will be managed with the monsoon season in mind and will be accessible to people with disabilities. Parking will be available at Nepal Police Club; Pathao will offer discounted rides to and from Bhrikutimandap during the event, and UnionPay will provide a cashback facility on ticket purchases made through its QR service.
Global IME Bank will be the co-sponsor, and Red Bull Nepal the Powered By sponsor and beverage partner. Suman Pokharel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank, said the bank was pleased to collaborate with NAIMA and highlighted links between mobility, economic activity and financial access. Shrey Krishna Shrestha, Head of Marketing at Red Bull Nepal, expressed support for NAIMA’s training and awareness initiatives and said Red Bull will present activities during the Expo.

NAIMA invited families, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, media and the general public to attend the Expo.
The press conference was facilitated by NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal. He said the association aims to make the event both an exhibition and a learning platform.
