LALITPUR: Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE) recently hosted a discussion on 'Connectivity in South Asia'.
Anmol Mukhiya of the Department of International Relations at South Asian University, New Delhi, was the guest speaker at the event held on June 30.
During the session, speakers explored the evolving landscape of regional connectivity, considering the geopolitical, economic and strategic dimensions of cross‑border infrastructure and regional links and their implications for South Asia’s future.

Dr Mukhiya highlighted the opportunities and challenges surrounding regional connectivity initiatives, stressing the importance of cross-border infrastructure, policy coordination, scholarships and multilateral cooperation for sustainable development and regional stability.
Speakers also considered Nepal’s strategic role within South Asia and its potential contribution to enhancing regional connectivity and engagement.
The event concluded with an engaging question‑and‑answer session in which participants exchanged perspectives and raised queries about the prospects for regional integration and connectivity in South Asia.
