Jagdamba Motors launches Proton e.MAS 5 in Dhangadhi at introductory price of Rs 2.99m

DHANGADHI: Jagdamba Motors, the official distributor of Proton vehicles for Nepal, has launched the Proton e.MAS 5 compact electric SUV at its Dhangadhi showroom in Kailali district. The company is offering a special starting price of Rs 2.999 million.

Introduced as Proton’s second electric vehicle in Nepal, the e.MAS 5 is aimed at making urban lifestyle and daily travel smoother, smarter and more modern. The model recently won the title of 'Electric Compact Vehicle of the Year 2026' at Malaysia’s 'Allianz DSF Vehicle of the Year Awards 2026'.

The e.MAS 5 features a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its practical design includes a 70-litre front trunk, an expandable 375-litre rear luggage compartment and 32 storage compartments, the company said.

The launch was attended by Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Gopal Hamal, Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana, business partners, media personnel, auto journalists, influencers and other guests, reflecting growing interest in electric vehicles in the Far-Western Province.

Proton, Malaysia’s national automobile brand, has expanded internationally since 2017 through a strategic partnership with Geely. Proton e.MAS is now established as a leading Malaysian electric vehicle brand and is expanding its presence in markets including Nepal.

The e.MAS 5 is available in two variants, Prime and Premium. Jagdamba Motors announced a special introductory price of Rs 2.999 million for the Prime variant and Rs 3.499 million for the Premium variant, applicable to the first 100 customers for a limited period. Bookings are open at the Dhangadhi showroom, where customers can view the vehicle and take a test drive.
