CHITWAN: Night-time vehicle movement on Narayangadh-Muglin road has been suspended after a dry landslide near Muglin Bazar blocked the route.
The District Administration Office, Chitwan, has issued a notice prohibiting all types of vehicles on the road between 8:00 pm on Tuesday and 5:00 am on Wednesday.
The notice said boulders and rocks continue to fall at the site, creating a risk to human life if traffic were allowed during hours of darkness. Officials cleared debris and reopened the road three times this afternoon, but repeated falls led to the decision to halt night-time traffic.
This is the first landslide reported at this location. At Khahare Bridge, about 700 metres from Muglin towards Narayangadh, boulders are still falling from roughly 40 metres above the road.
