BIRATNAGAR: Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM) on Thursday donated Rs 1.5 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund after Bhotekoshi River flooded in Rasuwa District on Wednesday.

CIM President Nanda Kishor Rathi handed over a cheque for Rs 1.5 million to Morang Chief District Officer Yubaraj Kattel to assist affected communities.

Rathi said the private sector is not only a driver of economic activity but an integral part of society, and that the business community feels the pain whenever the nation suffers. He paid tribute to those who lost their lives, extended sympathy to bereaved families and expressed his wishes for the swift recovery of the injured and the continued safety of affected residents.

CIM has urged all member industries and commercial establishments to contribute to the government’s rescue and relief fund according to their capacity during this national crisis.

The organisation expressed gratitude to the Government of Nepal’s security personnel, health workers, various agencies and volunteers working on the front line of rescue and relief operations, and called on all Nepalis to stand united in supporting affected citizens to help restore hope and stability to their lives.
