KATHMANDU: The 5th Nepal Electric, Power and Lights International Expo 2026, and the 4th Nepal Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances Expo have been postponed after devastating floods and landslides across Nepal.

The international exhibition, to be jointly organised by Media Space Solutions, Futurex Trade Fair and Events, and Exhibition and Trade Services India, had been scheduled to take place at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu from September 4 to 6.

In an official announcement, the event organisers said hosting a commercial trade event did not seem humane while the country faces extensive loss of life, severe property damage and immense hardship among citizens, and that Nepal is currently in a sensitive period of national mourning and reconstruction.

The postponement follows safety advisories issued by the Government of Nepal and travel advisories from the governments of India and China for their citizens. Event authorities emphasised that the safety and travel convenience of participants, exhibitors and visitors remain their top priorities.

New dates for the exhibition will be announced once the situation normalises and local transport and infrastructure are fully restored. The organisers expressed sincere gratitude for the goodwill of participants and stakeholders and apologised for the inconvenience caused during this natural disaster.
