Paudel, Bichha, Budhathoki appointed members of NPC

KATHMANDU: The government on Friday appointed three members to the National Planning Commission (NPC). Senior economist Ramesh Chandra Paudel, who has been conducting research on the economy, business, education, and other studies, has been appointed a member of NPC. Similarly, RP Bichha and Prabhu Budhathoki have also been appointed members of the NPC. The duo are experts who have worked in the health sector for a long time. Paudel and Bichha were sworn in on Friday while Buddhathoki has yet to take the oath of office and secrecy as he is currently outside Kathmandu. Paudel, who graduated in Economics from Australian National University, was currently working as an Associate Professor at Tribhuvan University (TU) Central Department of Economics as well as the head of the Governance and Anticorruption Studies Centre of TU. With the appointment of members, the NPC is expected to move forward through a careful review of the national projects and programmes. Previously, the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal appointed economist Min Bahadur Shrestha as NPC Vice-Chairman. The government has already appointed Ram Kumar Phuyal and Jay Kant Raut as members of the NPC. The prime minister acts as the chairman of NPC. READ ALSO:
