Laxmi Group organises CSR activities to mark golden jubilee

A A- A+

KATHMANDU: Since its inception as a Laxmi Mithai Bhandar, sweets shop in 1973, Laxmi Group has flourished into a versatile entity celebrating its 50th year in the market.

With units in automotive trading (dealing with both passenger and commercial vehicles, along with auto components), manufacturing (producing steel, paper, plastic, and confectionery items), and involvement in the sporting industry, the group has made a substantial contribution to the nation's prosperity, employing over 2,000 people over the past five decades.

As a testament to their enduring commitment to community welfare, Laxmi Group and its diverse ventures organised various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to mark this occasion. Recognising the significance of giving back, these initiatives aimed to uplift and support the communities that have played a pivotal role in the group's success. Continuing their tradition, Laxmi Group conducted a blood donation programme, drawing participation from over 100 employees. This altruistic endeavour reflects the group's dedication to community health and well-being. In yet another thoughtful gesture, Laxmi Intercontinental contributed to the cause by providing stationery and supplies to the ‘Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy’, Dhapakhel.

Hyundai Kathmandu, under Laxmi Group, spearheaded a cleaning campaign near the revered Bhatbhateni Temple in Naxal, underscoring their commitment to environmental responsibility.

Sujal Dairy, another esteemed venture of Laxmi Group, organised a heartwarming free food campaign at ‘Hope Heritage Elder Care’ located in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. Sujal Dairy Products, such as kheer (rice pudding) and puri tarkari (fried bread prepared from wheat flour and vegetable curry), were distributed to elderly residents, embodying the group's ethos of care and compassion. Expanding their philanthropic efforts, Sujal Foods took the initiative to spread joy as confectionery items, stationery, and sports goods were distributed to the ‘Child Protection Home’ and ‘Disabled Service Association’ in Sifal and Bungmati, respectively.

Similarly, Lovebird Ice Cream, brand of Safal Foods, organised a delightful lunch at ‘CWEAF’ located in Attarkhel, Jorpati. Ice Cream, kheer, paneer tarkari (vegetable curry with cottage cheese), stationery items, and sports goods, were generously provided, creating moments of joy and togetherness.

As Laxmi Group reaches this remarkable 50-year milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to community welfare, demonstrating the harmonious coexistence of corporate success and social responsibility."
