Budget speech rescheduled for 3pm

KATHMANDU: The timetable for the government's presentation of revenue estimates and expenditures (budget) for the fiscal year 2024/25 has been delayed by two hours.

Previously, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire had arranged for the budget speech to be delivered at 1:00 pm today, before a joint session of both the lower and upper houses of the Federal Parliament. It has now been rescheduled for 3:00 pm.

Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun will present the budget for the forthcoming fiscal year in today's joint parliamentary session.
