KATHMANDU: A total of 37 proposals have been registered in Parliament, calling for amendments to the government’s policies and programmes for fiscal year 2025/26.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire shared this information during a session of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday.
On the same day, the Lower House held discussions on amendment proposals regarding the government’s policies and programmes, which had been presented by President Ramchandra Paudel before the joint sitting of both the Upper and Lower Houses of the Federal Parliament on May 2.
The government has been criticised for failing to present clear visions and plans for the upcoming fiscal year, with concerns raised over its lack of strong commitments to inclusion, social justice and good governance.
During discussions, some lawmakers accused the government of overlooking the need for resource management and effective implementation of federalism, as well as failing to address corruption and irregularities.
