KATHMANDU: Global Compact Nepal (GCN), in collaboration with its member company Green Tick Nepal and in partnership with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), organised a Cyber Security Awareness Programme in Kathmandu on Thursday. The event aimed to build a more secure and informed digital society.
Technology is increasingly integral to both personal and professional life, but the risks associated with cyber threats have become more complex and widespread. Many individuals and organisations remain unsure of how to protect themselves effectively, and the programme provided insights and tools to recognise and counter common cyber threats.
The event opened with remarks from Pradeep Man Vaidya, President of GCN, who stressed the urgent need for digital responsibility and awareness.
Niranjan Phuyal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NEPSE, delivered a keynote speech on the growing importance of cyber security. He explained why businesses, particularly those in the financial and commercial sectors, must prioritise cyber security and adopt robust digital protection measures.
