DPM Paudel directs secretaries to implement budget

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has directed secretaries to draw up a timetable and implement the budget for fiscal year 2025/26.

In a meeting at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) today, Minister Paudel instructed officials to develop an annual plan and corresponding timetable for budget implementation. He affirmed that the MoF would provide full support and urged them to take timely steps to ensure effective execution.

He emphasised the need to maximise non-tax revenue within existing legal provisions and limits. According to the MoF, Rs 128 billion in non-tax revenue was collected in fiscal year 2024/25, accounting for 10.9% of total revenue.

The meeting also considered the identification and implementation of additional non-tax revenue sources. Finance Secretary, Revenue Secretary and other ministry secretaries attended, the Finance Minister’s private secretariat confirmed.
